Hi! I’m Desiree, a clinical psychologist registered with the Singapore Register of Psychologists. My journey as a psychologist began in 2010 in a paediatric clinic within a local hospital, where I accumulated years of experience journeying with children and teenagers from diverse backgrounds with a broad range of difficulties including anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress, self-harm behaviours, grief, selective mutism, ADHD, anger-management problems and relationship difficulties.

My work has included providing individual psychotherapy, working with families, schools and other partner agencies, facilitating support groups, administering psychological assessments, conducting workshops for parents and other professionals, and providing clinical supervision to psychologists-in-training.

My approach is client-centred and honours the biological, psychological, social and spiritual aspects of each individual and each family’s unique life story. I draw from a range of therapies in my practice, including creative and expressive therapies, cognitive-behavioural approaches and emotion-focused approaches, applying them flexibly depending on what is most appropriate for each person.

Seeking therapy can be a daunting experience for many people, regardless of age. Beyond any particular therapeutic modality, I prioritize a trustworthy client-therapist relationship and a nurturing, non-judgmental environment in which the young person and their caregivers feel safe to explore the challenges of their lives. I believe that this is the fertile ground from which true healing and transformation can emerge.
